Welcome everyone, I hope you are all keeping warm as old man winter slaps the heck out of most of the country with all this wintry weather!!! Brrrrr!
Okay, well that's enough chit-chat, let's get down to business!
This particular Author Spotlight is a special one for me.
See, a few months back I had the pleasure of getting into an argument on Facebook with a fellow author, over a singer/actor by the name of Common...if you don't know who this sexy work of art is then you're about to be schooled.

<<<<<<--------YES!!!! HIM!!!! (sigh)
Well, as it turned out, while debating who loved him more, I found out right away that this Texas lady would have hell to pay if she ever found her way to Brooklyn, New York because the spitfire author, whose feathers I ruffled, belonged to none other than Avril Aston!!
In the end we agreed to share the man, I mean look at him... there's more than plenty of him to go around. (insert another sigh here)
It was then that we discovered a very long list of things we had in common....other than Common, therefore I affectionately dubbed her "my sister from another mister."
This gorgeous lady has a personality that puts a smile on my face and I have anxiously awaited this day for several months.... her very FIRST release day!!!!
Okay, well I won't keep you waiting any longer so hold on to your panties, because here comes everything you need to know about Avril Ashton and her "Wicked Ride!"

Sasha Forde has retired from life as master thief, but a visit from a mobster sends her right back in. In order to save her family—and herself—from jail, she must steal evidence hidden in a lawyer’s office. She sets out to do what she considers a simple B and E, but someone else has arrived first. And he holds her life in his tattooed hands. Not for long.
Niko Davaris is all about revenge on the man who tried to kill him. The evidence he stole is the first step in that direction. He’s not thrilled to wake up with a gun to his head. The woman on the other end is cocky, smug and too damn hot for her own good. He wants her, she wants the evidence. When she takes it and disappears, he gives chase. Battle lines are blurred as they give in to temptation, but on a ride like this, someone has to come out on top. Who will it be?

Now a little something from Avril as she gives us an inside look at her writing process as her muse gave birth to her new baby..."A Wicked Ride!!"

In doing all the promo for my new release—blogs, interviews—comes the inevitable question, where did I get my inspiration for this novel? Well, as you’ll soon learn, the heroine of A Wicked Ride is no docile bird. No, in fact Sasha Forde is a criminal. She considers herself a procurer. I just call her a master thief.
My first visions of her were in a small, dark place. Snippets of images, like a ten second movie, would come to me. I saw the gun she carried, the killer heels she wore J and the sweat on her skin. I felt her anxiety, her annoyance, and her inexplicable need to shoot someone.
Hoo-kay…I knew where she was but I had no idea who she was, or why she was there. She wasn’t very forthcoming.

Music is my writing companion, so when a certain megastar debuted her new music video, Videophone, I took note. Not so much of the song, but the attitude and demeanor in that music video, especially the opening sequence. Goose bumps covered my flesh; this was my heroine. This was Sasha. I simply knew that attitude was hers. In charge, feisty, rough-around-the-edges, unapologetic. Hard and red.

Once I had her demeanor down, everything else flowed smoothly. She opened up to me, giving me access to the woman on the inside. I found her fiercely loyal to family and friends, willing to do anything to protect them. Even at the expense of herself. She was a giver, putting everyone’s needs before her. When she finally makes the move to take for herself, disaster is the consequence.

Love for Sasha was not an issue. She didn’t do relationships; when we met she had a jump-off who came when she called and left when she came, a perfectly reasonable arrangement. To her. She was firmly in control of her life, in and out of the bedroom.
Until blackmail…until Niko Davaris…until the choice came down to love or family. Need or want. Until betrayal became her bed companion.
The journey Sasha takes to find herself and love was not an easy one. Many lives where affected—some good, some not—but I have it on good authority she doesn’t regret the place she ended up. In fact, I can see her now; pink bangs over her right eye, clad in some’n skin tight and revealing, skyscraper heels on. “It’s all about the ride, baby.”

See what I mean? Her characters have to get their grit from somewhere, and let me tell you... the most exciting races are always won by cars with the finest engines and the most talented drivers.... Avril Ashton has that grit... so, my darlings, hop in the back seat and strap your seatbelt on real tight because this race to glory is gonna be one helluva "WICKED RIDE!!"
