Ahh! The Lovely Avril Ashton Returns!!

Sealed with a Kiss would like to welcome back author, Avril Ashton.
Some of you may have heard me refer to her as ‘my sister from another mister’, but may not know why.
Well to make a long story short, which is quite a feat for a writer in the first place, sometimes you run across people whom you feel you have known forever, or just instantly know that if geography wasn’t the issue, you would probably hang out with them as often as possible.
Avril is one of those people for me.

*Note* It has very little to do with our taste in men or shared fantasies about a certain singer/rapper/actor we may have in “Common”!!!

Like I said, NOTHING at all!
Without being too sentimental, Avril was one of the first authors I met, while very new to this industry, that didn’t make me feel like the dweeb I really am. She encouraged me and let me vent, so naturally whenever she has a bee in her bonnet (she’ll get a kick outta that) I listen to her bitch-fest, too!
It’s a rare find when people who share common goals, likes, dislikes and interests can come together and support one another, even if we all live thousands of miles apart. That’s the beauty of the internet.
Another beautiful thing is that I can share her with you now by tying her to the hot seat and making her sweat!
Speaking of sweat, let's take a look at her latest release, "Make Me Sweat", then we'll get back to the hot seat!

Charged with planting a listening device in the office of a dangerous nightclub owner, Ever Marcille accepts an invite from her target to indulge in some naughty play. She didn’t count on their mutual, insatiable need, or the many ways his closely guarded secrets are intertwined with hers.

Undercover federal agent Simon Dakin has one thing on his mind, catching the arms dealer known as Ghost. That’s until he spies the mysterious woman at his bar. Time after time she comes in, teasing his senses. Starring in his fantasies. He promises himself one night with her in his arms, but a single taste isn’t possible. He’s hooked.
Even as their secrets intrude, Dak and Ever succumb to their desires. But time is running out. Secrets past and present must be revealed. Can their new-found feelings survive the many blows, or is this over before it even begins?

Just look at that cover! yummy!! Come on, let’s have some fun!
Hello Avril, so glad you could join us!!
First off, let me just say that this latest adventure you’re taking us on in “Make me Sweat”, did just that….MADE ME SWEAT!! It’s that hot!
Where in the world do you come up with such daring characters?

LOL, totally love my intro! And yes, I did giggle at the bee in the bonnet thing. Love ya, Rob ;) So…daring characters. I’m surrounded by strong, confident people, both men and women. I’m no slouch myself, so I tend to write characters who I can relate to and respect.

How important is it to you that your heroines be the hard asses they’ve all been so far?

It’s very important. I’m a hard-ass and I have no respect for those females who can’t hold their own, be it in the bedroom, boardroom, or on the sidewalk. The era of women sitting back and waiting, depending on others for their needs and wants are long gone. Everything should reflect that. My heroines are all reflections of the women around me; strong women, sexy women, women firmly in control of their destinies. Women who kick ass wearing five inch heels, making no excuses as they take what they want.

I LOVE that!!!
When you think of your heroes, do you have a particular actor/model in mind you use as a muse while creating them? If so, who would you cast as Dak in a movie?

I don’t start off with a set person in mind for my heroes. In the middle or end of the story, after really knowing their traits and features, I look for someone well known who’d fit that mold. Alex O’Loughlin comes to mind for Dak.  His dark features are completely arresting and he’s extremely confident, plus he’s soo totally dreamy... hmmm

Oh no, yet another man we both lust for. Will our tastes ever differ? Nah! Probably not! LOL!
The same question for Ever? What sexy, bad-ass would play her on screen?

LOL Ever. Who’d play Ever? Oh, the pressure of a name. I’d say Kerry Washington. She’s a sexy, smart woman with a quiet strength to her that I find alluring.

Yeah, I could see Kerry as Ever. I’ll overlook the fact that she’s been in a video with that other sexy man we have in “Common”.
Now for the juicy stuff.
This story finds our couple in some pretty hot and heavy love scenes. Did you have any concerns while writing those tricky parts and if so, how did you address them?

No concerns. Nada. None. Did I say no concerns? LOL There are just some things you innately know your characters would do and some you know they won’t. The…ahem, things, Ever and Dak do, none of my other couple have done. It’s unique to them and their situation. I simply try to make it as sexy as possible, try not to gross anybody out, and hope at least one person likes it.

No problems there!
What is the likelihood we could see these two together again in another adventure?

Not likely at this point. I think their story’s been told and if we see them next it’ll be in the supporting role of another story.

Good and bad news then. Since you mentioned Dak and Ever becoming supporting characters in a future work, does that mean a story for the current supporting characters in this one? I’ve heard some readers mention it and I must ask, too… will we see these guys again?

Yes, readers have been asking for Wes and Jayce’s story. It’s in the infancy phase right now, but it’s coming. It’s tentatively titled Make Me Beg and picks up six months after Make Me Sweat ends.

Yayyy! That’s great news!!
I hope you’re not going to make us wait too long for another book, whether it has anything to do with these characters or not. What’s next for you?

I’m writing, though not as fast as I should. I keep getting waylaid by the urge to read. Temptation. I’m doing revisions on In Wicked Chains (book#3 in The Wicked series), about to start Wicked is his Touch (book#4 in The Wicked series), finishing the first draft of Till Surrender (The PSC series bk#2, M/M) and alternating between finishing my first F/F and beginning a totally new M/M story. It’s a heavy workload and totally worth it.

It so totally is!! ;-)
